This is by far one of our favorite cameras! We have installed over 100 of these units both indoors & outdoors (we’re in Oklahoma so the temperature & weather conditions are complete madness) with great success. So far we have only had (1) of these units fail in two years! These guys have an excellent picture & a ton of truly functional features that make them one of the most diverse cameras on the market!
PROs: Versatile - Install almost anywhere!, Anti-Vandal (These guys are heavy duty!), RS-485 decoder built-in!, 12x AUTO-FOCUS Optical Zoom, Dual Voltage, Digital Slow Shutter for good low light performance (SLOW MOVING OBJECTS!), Super high quality picture, Good Warranty
CONs: Heavy, Digital Slow Shutter does not work well with moving objects (THIS IS COMMON TO ALL DSS CAMERAS - NOT JUST THE SAMSUNG SCC-931T), Samsung Service is SLOOOOWWW.
RECOMMENDATION: We would recommend this camera to anyone who requires a Day/Night operation camera w/ Anti-Vandal design. You can get other Anti-Vandal Day/Night cameras for a lower price if you don’t need the AutoZoom / AutoFocus & Remote Control Ability but you will not find anything else that even comes remotely close to the picture quality or functionality of this camera for even $100 more than the price of the Samsung SCC-931T.

• High impact, vandal resistant dome (Shock/water/dust proof: IP66 grade)
• x12 motorized optical zoom with x10 digital zoom
• DSP (Digital Signal Processing)
• 1/4” 410,000 super HAD CCD
• Horizontal resolution (480 TV Lines)
• Back Light Compensation covers various light conditions
• External synchronization with linelock
• Motion detection function with alarming output
• On-screen menus (Multi-language)
• Picture in Picture on digital zoom
• Remote control: RS485 (Half duplex)
• Power input (AC24V/DC12V compatible)
• Built-in ground fault isolation transformer

I’ll start this article off with one of the only negative things we have to say about this camera - the first one we received was DOA (replaced in 2 days) and we needed it for an install the next day! Well, that 2 day replament was worth the wait because this camera produces one of the best, true-to-life pictures we have seen.
PROs: Excellent Picture Quality (Rich Colors, True-to-life detailing in even extreme backlight / contrast lighting conditions), Easy to Use & Setup (especially with the Pelco mini-view plug-in monitor!), Pelco Service & Warranty
CONs: Pricing
RECOMMENDATION: Worth the price if you consider the Pelco warranty & service & have an area with scene lighting differential or even if your customer (or you!) require a true-to-life picture in any scene. There are other versions of this camera technology available for about 70% of the price of this one if you are not worried about service & warranty term.

• 1/3-inch, Super Wide Dynamic Range SIMD Imager
• 95 dB Typical/120 dB Maximum
• Horizontal Resolution of more than 480 TV Lines
• Six Preset Application Profiles
• Two User-Definable Profiles
• Outstanding Color Reproduction
• On-Screen Menu Configuration
• Electronic Iris Control
• DC-Drive Auto Iris Lens Compatibility
• Supports NTSC and PAL in Same Model
• Standard Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) Output
• Optional Integral Feedthrough Mount
• Optional Camera Setup Tools

Hi,
This is Josh with Digi Surveillance Systems. As many of you know specification VS operation is a big issue in the security industry today. We’ll use this blog to keep you up to date with reviews on the newest items as we test them (PROs & CONs & Recommendations) and welcome any reviews (just place them in the appropriate category) you may have on any products you test as well. Hopefully we can keep ourselves & others up to date on the newest products and expose the true functionality of each surveillance & CCTV product as we test it so we can ensure our customers & businesses remain satisfactorily secure
!
We’re really exited about all of the new products we’ve recently tested and are currently testing in the CCTV & Manufacturing Automation industries. We hope to keep you informed on all of the newest products and solutions as we develop and test them.
In addition to a NON-BIAS communal review of new CCTV products we would like to build a strong network of small companies (installers, resalers, design & service) and individuals with the cumulative power to make a difference in our respected fields.
We currently operate a buying & importing pool designed specifically for small companies and individuals who want the ability to purchase the newest, cutting edge products at pricing that will keep them as competitive (or more!) as the larger companies in their fields! You can get the best pricing available through our FREE distribution buying pool!
We hope you will contribute to this blog by providing your unique view on our industries and keep us informed on new and interesting related technologies as you discover them. We promise to do the same!
Thank you for your time & keep us posted!
